In the Light of Led Zeppelin: Epic Tribute Channels Page & Plant

The power and mystery of majestic rockers Led Zeppelin comes to the stage at The Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center this November 2018. Brought to life by Ft. Lauderdale tribute In the Light of Led Zeppelin, this thunderous show channels the core duo of Robert Plant and Jimmy Page in their prime, when their unrivaled chemistry was churning out hits such as “Stairway to Heaven” and “Communication Breakdown.” But the band plays lesser-known tunes as well, taking the crowd on a journey through the Zep’s heyday in the late ’60s/early ’70s through to Page’s and Plant’s solo years.

Sporting the melodic richness of Page’s guitar prowess, Plant’s soaring vocal range, and an uncanny physical resemblance to both musicians, In the Light of will slay you with the familiar and unique tones of one of the world’s most iconic bands.

WE THREE SIBLING ACT LET EMOTIONS RUN FREE ON AMERICA’S GOT TALENT @ Parker Playhouse
Apr 3 @ 7:30 pm

If there is such a thing as a “musical gene” then there are three siblings in a quiet corner of Oregon that are living proof that it exists. Joshua, Bethany and Manny make up WE THREE. With parents that were immersed in song they spent their earliest moments being fed, bred, and bathed in a lush musical backdrop of melody and verse that came as easily as talking and walking. They have a bond that could only be forged in the fires of strong love. Their self-written songs cover all the strands of emotion, from melancholic to the motivated, and the mountains of love that beg to be celebrated that lie in between. Their music is positive, purposeful, yet subtle, with lyrics that can belie a wry twist and melodies that are incurably infectious.

Sweet Plantain – String Quartet @ Seminole Theatre
Apr 13 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Nobody bridges the gap between generations or musical genres like Sweet Plantain, a refreshingly new string quartet. Artfully fusing the Western classical traditions in which they were trained with the hip hop, jazz improv, and Latin rhythms on which they were raised, their original writing and live shows educate and entertain.

Separately hailing from Venezuela, Argentina, New Jersey, and The Bronx, together these musicians give voice to a sound that is contemporary, multicultural, and very New York. The brainchild violinist/trombonist Eddie Venegas, joins with cellist Leo Grinhauz, violist Orlando Wells and violin/vocals, Joe Denninzon to form the quartet. Members of Sweet Plantain are fuse their classical training with the hip hop, jazz, improv and Latin rhythms in which they were raised, creating a new contemporary and musically exciting sound that captivates both musicians and audiences alike.
