The Not Your Average Theater Group proudly presents the world premiere workshop production of the hilarious and heartfelt new musical “ONE SUMMER IN BROOKLYN.” The show will open on February 8 in Soref Hall at the Soref Jewish Community Center in Plantation.
Filled with laughter and tears, “ONE SUMMER IN BROOKLYN” takes place in 1962 in Brooklyn and tells the story of a Jewish girl who meets a Cuban boy. What could go wrong?
“ONE SUMMER IN BROOKLYN” is based on the hit play “RACHEL AND JULIO,” which was performed to sold-out houses and great acclaim in South Florida, New York City, and Los Angeles, among many other venues. The musical is co-written by “The Greatest American Hero” T.V. and film star William Katt, Carrol Mendelson, and Mitchell Uscher. William Katt co-wrote the original play with Carrol Mendelson.
