AntiRacism Theatre Strategies

The Anti-Racism Theatre Strategies (ARTS) Cohort is a six-month long program for theatre producers, led by Christina Alexander and Katie Christie of Alexander Christie Consulting. Both are ArtEquity trained facilitators and Theatre Communications Group Rising Leaders of Color. Participating theatres are engaged in the process of skill-building, alliance-building, issue framing, messaging, systems analysis, coaching, and solutions cultivation.

The 1st cohort launched in 2020 and consisted of the following theatres: City Theatre, Florida Children’s Theatre, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Miami New Drama, New City Players, Slow Burn Theatre, Theatre Lab, and Zoetic Stage.

The 2nd cohort launched in 2021 and consisted of the following theatre companies: Island City Stage, J*CAT, Juggerknot Theatre Company, MNM Theatre Company, Momentum Stage, and Thinking Cap Theatre.

The South Florida Theatre League would like to launch a 3rd cohort in 2022. If your company is interested, please contact executive director Andie Arthur. We are currently in the process of widening the program to the entire state of Florida, so even if you aren’t in South Florida and interested, we’d love to have you join.
