Governor Ron DeSantis vetoed over $32 million in arts funding for the 2024 – 2025 fiscal year. This is devastating not only to the hundreds of organizations impacted by these last minute cuts, but also for the economy. For every $1 given in arts funding, $9 are generated into the local economy.
The South Florida Theatre League is in process of doing a social media video campaign under the hashtag #saveFLarts — to spread awareness and to keep the pressure on our local governments to support the arts during this upcoming election season.
Also, consider joining the Florida Cultural Alliance, which is the only state wide advocacy program and participate in their monthly statewide calls.
