Mark Walter Braswell (ASCAP) is a composer, lyricist, playwright, and producer. At the beginning of 2013, Mark relocated from Washington, DC, to Miami Beach. Here he has finished researching and writing a new musical based on Operation Pedro Pan, which is entitled Cuban Courage. Previously, Mark has written several musicals and cabarets, which have been produced in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington. His most recently produced musical is Paying the Price, which tells the story of his father’s experiences in WWII as a tail gunner on a B-17 and then POW. This show enjoyed a successful premier by the Cape Fear Regional Theatre, in conjunction with the U.S. Army’s Airborne and Special Operations Museum in NC, which was followed by other productions. In addition, Mark has written several short plays, music for special events and benefits, and scores for short films.

CLARA LYZNIAK (President/Exec. Director/Producer) Clara was born in Cuba and raised in Chicago, and has called Miami home for the last 28 years. She has been involved with the Main Street Players on and off stage since 1997 (starting out as a stage mom for her talented son, Jason), and this is her 8th year as president. Clara also serves as the theatre’s graphic designer, social media coordinator, producer, and assistant directs on occasion; most recently the much acclaimed Becky’s New Car. She has appeared in several musicals such as Oliver!, Urinetown, Pirates of Penzance and She Loves Me in ensemble roles, but in 2012, when she had her first leading role in Lisa Lumer’s Living Out, she was given the honor of ‘Best Supporting Actor’ from Miami New Times . Other favorite roles have been in California Suite as Beth Hollander and Michael Jacobs’ Cheaters, where she was cast by Michael Jacobs himself in the role of Grace Gerber. Clara has also participated in play readings and was part of the 2014 One Minute Play Festival at Deering Estate. She also performs in independent films and is a print model for a well known pharmaceutical. Clara’s first love is dancing and was trained as a dancer but never pursued a dancing career. All her work at MSP is done as a passionate volunteer who loves the arts and believes in the importance of theatre in the community. Clara works as a bilingual translator/proofreader for a multicultural advertising agency.
