Buddy Guy stands alone as the greatest living blues artist in the world, defining second generation Chicago blues with his wild performances and screaming, feedback-laden solos. The Grammy Award-winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee is an iconic force on guitar whose incandescent solos reveal the searing, uninhibited soul of the blues. The title his latest album showcasing his ray and unadulterated sound says it all: The Blues Is Alive and Well.

LITTLE FEAT: 50TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR @ Charles F. Dodge City Center Pembroke Pines
Mar 22 @ 8:00 pm

There really is no story’s end yet, and Little Feat have indeed led a storied life ever since they formed in 1969. As American as apple pie–and rock ‘n roll itself–Feat’s music transcends boundaries, a freewheeling fusion of California rock and Dixie-inflected funk boogie. In the mix as well are strains of folk, blues, rockabilly, country and jazz, inventing a hybrid sound that is truly Little Feat’s own.

THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES @ The Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts
Mar 23 @ 3:00 pm

Boca Black Box Presents:  The Vagina Monologues

An Obie Award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone, THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who “liked to look at it.”

Winner of the Obie Award. “If Ms. Ensler is the messiah heralding the second wave of feminism, and a lot of people think she is, it is partly because she is a brilliant comedian, The audience was overwhelmingly adoring.” -NY Times. “The most exhilarating part is, no kidding, her extremely virtuosic way with a series of orgasmic moans, Ensler, a writer-performer with a good-natured but seriously evangelical mission about this body part, must be enjoying her success in getting the word out on such a legendarily unmentionable, mythologized and misunderstood fact of life” -NY Newsday. “Ensler breaks taboos by talking, talking and talking some more, stripping fear and shame from what she celebrates here. It makes for quite a party. Funny, outrageous, emotionally affecting, and occasionally angry, THE VAGINA MONOLGOUES confront words to demystify and disarm them. In so doing, Ensler disarms the audience too.”

In between, Izzy is building a glowing reputation at the swank bookstore where she works, and pining for Tyler, a handsome local author.
