HOMESTEAD LAUGHS FT. DREW LYNCH

Join us for a night of comedy at the Seminole Theatre with the inaugural “Homestead Laughs”.

This year’s headlining comedian is Drew Lynch, best known as Golden Buzzer winner from America’s Got Talent.

Drew Lynch Originally from Indianapolis, at the age of 19, Drew Lynch moved to Los Angeles with aspirations of becoming an actor, then an unexpected softball accident just a year into his acting career left him with a severe stutter and crushed his hopes of ever performing again. But his continued drive to become an entertainer forced him in a different direction, he started reflecting through stand-up comedy on the “softball that humbly changed his life.” Drew’s ability to deal with his stutter and making it relatable to real-life situations ultimately landed him the title of first runner-up on “Season 10 of America’s Got Talent.” Inspired by comedians Bo Burnham, Louis C.K, he now headlines Comedy Clubs across the country. In addition, Drew has appeared on the “Dr. Oz Show,” and as a celebrity guest on the game show “Idiot Test.”

Zoso – The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience @ Seminole Theatre
Nov 26 @ 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm

ZOSO – THE ULTIMATE LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE

Zoso –The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience formed in 1995 to perform the most accurate and captivating Led Zeppelin live show since the real thing. For Zoso, it’s much more than just being a tribute. It’s about touching a golden era in music. Zoso embodies Page, Plant, Bonham and Jones in their spirit, tightly wound talent and authenticity.

Each band member has been carefully selected to portray both the appearance and playing styles of their Led Zeppelin counterparts. In eighteen successful years of touring, they have perfected their art. As one of the longest tenured Zeppelin tributes, Zoso’s 2400 live shows around the world, including a slot at Bonnaroo in 2003, have established them as the most traveled and successful band in the market. Zoso’s live shows are not about simply playing the right notes, they are about aura and feeling, harkening back to the unique atmosphere Led Zeppelin created. It’s in the way they play: Each band member’s mastery of authentic vintage instruments coupled with spot on vocals, guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, their compelling stage persona and distinct Led Zeppelin sound, with astounding visual imagery recreates the music, magic, and mystery of a Zeppelin concert. The impact is so powerful that band members constantly hear from young rockers that they were the catalyst behind turning them into new, diehard Zeppelin fans.

Christmas with Rockapella @ Seminole Theatre
Dec 22 @ 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Christmas with Rockapella

This Christmas season, get ready to hear all your holiday favorites and more, but with a different spin from Rockapella.

They’ve become one of the world’s most sophisticated, lasting, and imitated vocal groups around today. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more influential group out there in this new era of network television a cappella shows like NBC’s The Sing-Off, movies like Pitch Perfect, and innumerable college vocal groups that own the corner of cool on campuses everywhere.

Since the early ’90’s when they first achieved national television fame on PBS’s Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?, they’ve toured the globe and provided a funky powerful soundtrack to several generations of vocal music fans, while keeping it all fresh along the way. With buckets of catchy original pop songs, and complete contemporary revisions of sparkling Motown, pop, and soul classics, this group has always been the one to watch. ”Often imitated – never duplicated” applies here. Now they’re better than ever!

“MUDDY ON THE WATERS” BLUES TRIBUTE @ Seminole Theatre
Jan 21 @ 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm

“Muddy on The Waters” Tribute to Muddy Waters with The Nighthawks, Mud Morganfield & Bob Margolin.

Enjoy this evening paying tribute to the father of modern Chicago blues, featuring some of the artists who knew him best, including his own son.

The Nighthawks

The original Nighthawks lineup solidified in mid-1974. The band opened many doors and forged many touring routes for their contemporaries. They opened show after show for Muddy Waters, James Cotton and Carl Perkins, and backed up and recorded with John Hammond and Pinetop Perkins. The current members bring decades of varied experience to the stage and studio. When Mark Stutso, master of the deep groove, joined The Nighthawks at the beginning of 2010, the 21st-century version of the legendary American roots band was complete. With Paul Bell and Johnny Castle in the band for nearly a decade, and founding father Mark Wenner the remaining original, this team outshines all previous incarnations.

Bob Margolin

Boston native Bob Margolin was born in 1949. Inspired by Chuck Berry, he started playing guitar at age 15 and immediately started performing in local rock and blues bands. Margolin was hired by Muddy Waters in 1973. Muddy’s band toured the world and jammed with many great blues and rock musicians, “but the biggest thrill was playing Muddy’s Blues with him.”Muddy brought Margolin with him to special shows and recordings, when he sometimes didn’t use his whole band, to give him a familiar sound when working with other musicians. Bob Margolin has played on several Grammy-winning recordings, won numerous W.C. Handy/Blues Music Awards for his playing and is a KBA Award recipient for Journalism

 Mud Morganfield

Muddy Waters’ first born son, Larry “Mud” Williams (born 1954), was raised by his mother and often heard the nicknames of “Muddy”, “Muddy Jr.” and “Little Muddy”. But he prefers Mud Morganfield and it is fitting. It’s uncanny how much he looks and sounds like his dad. Mud is now ready to honor his pops and his music. “I started to sing to show the world that dad left me here. I love and am proud to sing his songs just like I love and will always be proud of him. I’m not Muddy Waters and I’m certainly not trying to be Muddy Waters. I’m Mud Morganfield. But when I’m up on stage I always feel pops is there with me and it means so much that I can get on stage and keep his music alive around the world.”

ART GARFUNKEL: In Close-Up

Blessed with what the New York Times described as a “beautiful countertenor,” singer Art Garfunkel has made an indelible mark on the music world as both a solo artist and half of the unrivaled Simon & Garfunkel. He has also enjoyed a successful film career, published a book of poetry and released 12 solo albums.

Garfunkel was originally revered for his GRAMMY-winning, chart-topping songs and albums with partner and fellow NYC native Paul Simon. Their greatest hits collection, which includes “Mrs. Robinson,” “Scarborough Fair,” “The Sound of Silence,” “The Boxer” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” among others, is one of the biggest selling albums ever.

Garfunkel continues doing what he does best: singing for an audience. “Taking on the fear and vulnerability of a live show keeps you vital,” says Garfunkel, who relishes the opportunity to perform new and classic material for fans around the world. “I’m a singer trying to get away with a lucky job. I try to soothe, to lift…That’s my life.”
